It Starts with Compassion...

Charity begins at home. Our self-relationship sets the stage for all of our other relationships. Self-compassion, spearheaded by Kristen Neff, is the foundation to build on. When we are kind and forgiving with ourselves, through the toughest of circumstances and when we lean towards being very self-critical, we are fortifying our resilience.

In her landmark book Self-Compassion, Dr. Kristen Neff's highlights the self-compassion triangle: 1) be kind to ourselves; 2) remember that our flaws are a design feature of being human - we are all connected that way; 3) stay grounded in the here and now through mindfulness (Neff, 2011).

Would you like to meditate on self-compassion? Dr. Neff has a very soothing voice - you can listen to her meditations at: https://self-compassion.org/self-compassion-practices/

I will be sharing stories and tips here throughout 2025.

Hope you'll join me on this journey!
